History

Terratec was started in 2004 and is a continuation of mapping and aerial photography activities at Fjellanger Widerøe. At that time, we were 5 employees with a passion for flight mapping and a desire to contribute to the social development of our community. We have always focused on long-term customer relationships. This has resulted in a steady growth and the opportunity to further develop our expertise to the benefit of our customers.

From 2006 until 2010 we expanded our activity by purchasing and developing advanced sensors. Terratec was among one of the world's first companies to invest in airborne laser scanning equipment. We also operate hyperspectral scanners and thermal cameras. In 2009, we started with laser scanning from cars (Mobile Mapping), and have gained a unique expertise in this area. Being able to combine laser scanning from cars and trains with existing data capture methods has been valuable to our customers and has given them savings both in terms of economy and use of resources. Up to 2013, we have refined our data capture methods. Our tools are worth a lot to our customers when we are able to develop according to market demands.

In March 2014 we moved from Lysaker to Vækerø. Now, in 2018, we are 130 employees with our head office in Oslo, branch offices in Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger. In total, including the companies in Sweden, Finland, Estonia and Spain, we are 220 employees in the Group. Our flight operative base is at Rakkestad Airport.
